==================My Favorite Lyrics====================

"Pools of sorrow; waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind."

~John Lennon, The Beatles 〚Across the Universe〛

One of the absolute best. That whole song, lyrically, musically, is a masterpiece. For all the shit that Lennon got & gets, he was a damn good writer.

"This ivory leg is what propels me! Harpoons thrust in the sky!"

~Brent Hinds, Mastodon 〚Blood and Thunder〛

Such a powerful delivery with (what my autism makes out to be) insanely cool imagery. Just a stormy sea with a lone man fighting to the death with a whale, lightning striking...

"..So I declare a holiday, fall asleep: drift away."

~Thom Yorke, Radiohead 〚Sulk〛

Something about this line is so ethereal and strikes me deep.

"You could sell yourself for a dime, step on anyone who borrows your time. You could play a victim, to the smoke and mirrors."

~Vinny Vinesauce, Red Vox 〚Burn a Picture〛

The entire song is beautifully haunting, this line stuck with me the most. My favorite detail is that Vin actually wanted the line to be this; the current song has wrong lyrics. He talks about it on this stream. EDIT* I - FOR THE LIFE OF ME - CAN'T FIND THE STREAM. I KNOW IT WASN'T A DREAM BECAUSE I'VE WATCHED IT MORE THAN ONCE. IT'S VINNY TALKING ABOUT THE ALBUM WHILE LOOKING AT PLANETS

"And through it all, into us all you move. Forgotten touch; forbidden thought."

~William Corgan, The Smashing Pumpkins 〚The Everlasting Gaze〛

The entire album of Machina/tMoG is an amazing, loud, sometimes annoying but overall booming masterpiece. This line, funnily enough from the first song, sounds like a flood is bearing down the streets of the town the singer resides; only the singer is controlling it. Billy's vocals mixed with the intense, pounding instrumental make for a really and truly harrowing, sad yet powerful experience.

"Tell me all your thoughts on God: 'cause I'd really like to meet her & ask her why we're who we are."

~J.R. Richards, Dishwalla 〚Counting Blue Cars〛

Entire song is a masterpiece but these lyrics in particular are just such an introspective dream to listen to: if someone offhanded asked what my ultimate lyrics were that pertained to my actual life, these would be it. ps i gotta listen to more from these guys i love the voice (6/15/2025 2:45am)

Don't believe the life you have will be the only one. You have to let your body sleep to let your soul live on.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just remember love is life and hate is living death; treat your life for what it's worth and live for every breath. Looking back, I've lived and learned, but now I'm wondering... Here, I wait and only guess what this next life will bring, haha!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm just a dreamer, I dream my life away... I'm just a dreamer who dreams of better days...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've listened to preachers, I've listened to fools. I've watched all the dropouts, who make their own rules. One person conditioned to rule and control; the media sells it and you live the role!~

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, in darkness, world stops turning. Ashes where their bodies burning.. No more war pigs have the power; hand of God has struck the hour. Day of Judgment, God is calling! On their knees, the war pigs crawling, begging mercies for their sins! Satan, laughing, spreads his wings! Oh, Lord, yeah!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I close my eyes forever, will it all remain unchanged? If I close my eyes forever, will it all remain the same?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~Black Sabbath, The one & only Prince of Darkness: John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne.
〚A National Acrobat, Dreamer, Crazy Train, War Pigs〛

What is there to say about the legendary Prince of Darkness that hasn't already been said? The man carved his path through life right until his last breath. Started his career by pioneering some 200 genres of metal, sludge, rock, doom, etc; bookended his career with the biggest charity event of all time just three weeks prior to his death. Though there is undoubtedly an Oz shaped hole in the world now, & whether as all things legacy may fade with eons, people will continue to feel the presence of Oz until the collapse of all. Ozzy didn't just make inspiring music, nor did he just write amazing lyrics, he was also a masterful comedian when he wanted to be and had a brain sharper than his fangs. Furthermore, he wasn't a man of closed mind, wanting all people to get along and live together in unity. While he may not have lived long enough to see global peace, he certainly pulled enough of us metalheads together for a small group of heaven. To quote a quote from Sabbath's mural: "Ozzy didn't just make music, he made a world where we were free to be who we truly are." With a grand crescendo of a being so mighty, yet gentle in his tyranny on the world, we salute one final time.

God bless you, Dreamer. May you finally have your better days.

Rest in Peace, Ozzy.

I saw you in my dream, we were walking hand in hand. On a white sandy beach of Hawaii... We were playing in the sun, we were having so much fun. On a white sandy beach of Hawaii~

Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole 〚White Sandy Beach of Hawaii〛

Absolutely adore IZ's voice; it's a damn shame he died so early. While he might've not had a huge worldwide presence when he was alive, he has most certainly touched the souls of many with his soothing lullaby of a voice. Love you, IZ.
