Before Time

After the era of the Gods faded, what was left of humanity began to struggle. One day, in a fleeting attempt to find the end, no... The beginning of life, a few brave souls traveled far below the depths of rock. The deathly hallows were coveted by all as a place of solace and peace. Yet, being home to chitinous beasts did little to effect the success of those who wished to claim it's bounty. The beauty of life is that it never fades, no matter how hard everything tries to stop it; the brave explorers took their time, steadying their will whilst the creatures were bearing down on them. They carefully made their way past the beasts and found their prize: the Primeval Ocean. The beasts dared not to tread by the consecrated waters, fearing the blessings of power that it could bestow; even the lowest of intelligence could see it was a plain and simple bad idea. However, man was desperate to escape it's erasure. They plunged their hands into the water, their bodies following. This enraged the beasts, they congregated into the pit to try and stop the few from attaining their leverage on life. The now cadaverous looking creatures raised their fangs at the new lords. The first to re-emerge out of the waters, now known as simply: Iron, began summoning spikes of metal into the heads of the creatures. The second to re-emerge, the strongest of the four: Korinthine, wound up an explosion that eviscerated everything that stood in their wake. The third to emerge: Nhaulik, grasped his sword of rancor and slashed the remaining creatures into naught but a few pieces. The last to emerge surprised even the new lords; one had become many. One of those who stepped into the ocean became one hundred.

...And so the world began to shatter.
