Chapter Eighteen: Voracity

As the war raged on, several soldiers from both sides falling off the Messiah's Bridge, Arsirian used her intellect to recognize the Messiah's army waning in totality. She ordered that all remaining troops return to the Messiah, much to the shock of Luwarin. As she turned, rays of gold surrounded her, with several that had fallen off now flying back upon their stem-like branch wings. Iron had no choice but to forfeit and let them leave, as his army was drained far more than the Messiah's. Upon the fall of that night, as Iron questioned Luwarin with utmost scrutiny, Luwarin shed tears. Solemn, short-lived tears of sap ran down his face. Iron was shocked, knowing Luwarin's usually very attuned emotional state. He did not relent however, prying to the core of the lies told by Luwarin. Upon hearing the full story, including the lies he told, Iron, despite his best judgment, pulled back and let the young apprentice rest.
